That depends on the insurance company. Some do offer coverage for nutritionists, so it's best to speak with a representative from your benefits and insurance company to confirm what your coverage entails. I do not directly bill to insurance companies, so please keep in mind that you will be required to pay for your services out of pocket and submit the necessary paperwork for reimbursement by your coverage.
You can ask your insurance company if they cover nutritionists with memberships from the International Institute of Complimentary Therapists or the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners, as I hold a full professional membership with both.
The short answer is no. I do not have the capabilities of ordering any tests. I can, however, determine and recommend to you whether it may be appropriate for you to speak to your doctor about having these tests ordered. In some cases, it may be necessary for you to complete these tests before we can work together, in order to ensure that your doctor is aware of any underlying conditions you may have, and to reduce your health risks.
There is a small line of supplement products that I recommend to all of my clients, though they are not mandatory in all of my services. These supplements are entirely whole-food, plant-based vegan supplements that help to support the body's ability to heal and protect itself naturally. They are only a mandatory component of the Shred Lifestyle, which would only be recommended to you if I felt it was a good fit. In all programs, the supplements are encouraged as they will promote positive health effects and consistency in your ability to commit to new lifestyle choices, and they are supported by worldwide research. Ultimately, it's entirely up to you to include them as part of your lifestyle habits.
Full disclosure: I do earn a small commission on the supplements that I recommend. However, they are the most scientifically researched health supplement in the world and have over 30 peer-review published studies, which I have personally reviewed. I personally take the entire supplement line and would never recommend a product that I didn't trust or take personally.
If you have questions about these products, I'd be more than happy to answer them for you, or connect you with someone within the company who can answer them for you!
Yes! There will be a package for you to fill out prior to our first meeting. In an effort to reduce my environmental footprint, all of my 'paperwork' will be available and transmitted online. This package will contain a number of documents that will help me to help you, so it's imperative that they are filled out truthfully and entirely. Information is not shared or sold to 3rd parties and is kept confidential as per my privacy requirements.
I hold a number of degrees and diplomas which are used in combination to provide you with the best possible care. Specifically, I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology, focused on education and human development from infancy to adulthood, and I hold seven (7) diplomas from the Natural School of Health Sciences in various nutritional studies. I generally do not offer appointments and coaching as single appointments as I believe that it is the compounding and continuous support that I provide that gets you results. As I do not want to misguide my clients, and would really rather see them succeed in their efforts, all of my coaching services are provided as packages to ensure success.
1) Initial Consult (60 minutes) -- $180
2) Follow Up Consults (45 minutes) -- $120
If you are a current client and require additional coaching calls outside of what's included in your coaching package, I can offer you a reduced rate of $80 per session.
As I believe that we hold high value to our time in this busy, fast-paced world we now live in, cancellations are expected 24 hours in advance. For missed appointments, without proper notice, a charge of $20 will be applied and is to be paid before another appointment is booked. Due to my flexibility in being able to accommodate your appointments via varying formats (phone, Zoom, etc), it is expected that you make every reasonable effort to commit to your appointment.
Payment is expected at the time of enrollment for a program, or as otherwise agreed upon on an individual basis. I offer flexible payment methods, including credit card, Interac, Paypal, and email bank transfer, depending on the service or coaching program!
Yes, I hold $1 million liability insurance to protect you and me in the event of an accident or injury while working with me. This comprehensive insurance package is in place not because I expect you to be injured while working with me, but to offer peace of mind to everyone. I would never contradict the advice of a client's medical team, so please be sure to be upfront with me about all of your medical history and communications with your physicians.
